Daisy Mae Moore passed on Monday, October 16, 2023 at the Legend Oaks Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Gladewater, Texas, where she had been a resident for six years. Daisy was born in Antoine, Arkansas on June 21, 1929 to Homer and Corene Gentry Lee. She attended high school in Okolona, Arkansas.

Daisy was baptized into the body of Christ as a teenager in Antoine, Arkansas. She remained a faithful member of the Church of Christ, serving as a minister’s wife while living in Hot Springs and Delight, Arkansas. Daisy loved to sing Gospel songs; she studied the Bible and taught the word of God to others. Daisy also loved to sew, make jewelry, and hand make dolls. After high school, Daisy moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas where she took Nursing Classes and worked at one of the hospitals as a Nurse’s Aide . There also, she met and married the love of her life, Johnny Moore on September 11, 1951. Johnny and Daisy Moore lived in Hot Springs, Arkansas for several years. Daisy and her husband, Johnny Moore moved back to Antoine, Arkansas to be near her parents, Homer and Corene Lee.

Then, In November 1994, shortly after both of Daisy’s parents passed away, Daisy and Johnny moved to Big Sandy, Texas to be close to her niece, Shirley Wright and family. Daisy is survived by nieces: Danette (Erwin) Hamilton, Wake Village, Texas; and Shirley (Melvin) Wright, Big Sandy, Texas. Nephews: Samuel (Mattie) Snowden, West Henrietta, New York; Marcus Snowden, Texarkana, Texas; Calvin (Cynthia) Lee, Nashville, Arkansas; Larry (Cheri) Lee, Longview, Texas. Bonus Niece: Stacey (Lloyd) Tyson, Wylie, Texas. Bonus Nephew: Lamar Snowden, Texarkana, Texas.

Daisy is also survived by four great nieces, seven great nephews, and many great-great nieces and nephews; Brother-in-law, Joe Thaniel Snowden, Texarkana, Texas; Sister-in-law, Edna Mae Lee, Flint, Michigan; cousins, church family at Lyle St. Church of Christ and Homer Davis, minister, and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Johnny Moore; parents, Homer and Corene Lee; sister, Cora Mae Lee Snowden; brother, Herman Ray Lee; and niece, LaVonda D. Lee.

The family of Daisy Moore wishes to express our sincere thanks for the love and support you have shown us during this time of transition. Your prayers and acts of kindness are much appreciated. We say “Thank You” for every caring deed; continue to pray for the family. Service will be Thursday October 26, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Brazzel Cornish Chapel and burial will follow in Harrison Chapel Cemetery in Delight, AR.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brazzel Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott.
