COLCORD, Okla. — Roy Len Wheeler, 72, of Colcord died July 8, 2008, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab. He was born Sept. 24, 1935, in Arkansas City, Kan., to George and Sarah Moore Wheeler.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He moved to Colcord in 1975 from Edmond, Okla. He was a scale operator for Peterson Industries in Decatur. He was a Baptist. He married Barbara Lene DeMoss on Aug. 10, 1957.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara of the home; two daughters, Sherrill Wheeler and Gaylene Jordan, both of Colcord; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Edith Markey of Kansas; one half-brother, Butch Wheeler of Kansas.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs. Larry Ellis and Greg Baskin will officiate.
Burial will follow in Maysville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Barbara Lene Wheeler, 82, of Colcord, Okla., died Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at her home.
She was born Oct. 8, 1938, to Leonard DeMoss and Wilma Wise-DeMoss. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, puzzle books, going on family vacations, and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.
She is survived by two daughters, Sherrill Wheeler and Gay Lene Jordan, both of Colcord; two brothers, Vernon DeMoss of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Rudy DeMoss of Gravette; one sister, Norma Cannon of Edmond, Okla.; three grandchildren, Chris Wheeler and wife Rebecca Johnson, Heather Brown, and Alana Jordan and fiancé Ty Utt; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday, July 9, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, with Pastors Greg Baskin and Michael DeMoss officiating. Burial will follow at Maysville Cemetery of Maysville.
Arrangements are by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
