February 16,1885 - January 24, 1967
Mrs. J. D. Samples Sr., 81 years old, 400 North 25 Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas died Tuesday, January 24, 1967 in a local hospital. She was the wife of the late J. D. Samples Sr., and had been a resident of Fort Smith for 38 years. She was a member of Central Presbyterian church.
Survivors were a son, Dwight Samples Jr., of Fort Smith; three daughters Mrs. Forsgren of Fort Smith, Jean of Tokyo, Japan and Lulynn of Dennison, Texas; a sister Mattie of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Private graveside service was held Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., at Roselawn cemetery with Roy Smith officiating. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
