Gwindola Derryberry (affectionately called “Gwin”) departed her loving husband and family on November 11, 2023. She was born July 27, 1942 in Palestine, Arkansas to the late Charley and Janie “Lorean” Smith. In addition to her parents, Gwin was preceded in death by three children, Stanley Clark, Donnie Clark, and Renee Diffee.
Gwin was talented in anything she set her mind to do but excelled in floristry, wood working, gardening, cross-word puzzles and being competitive with her family in board games. She was most proud of working in the Rewinding business alongside her husband.
She is survived by her husband, best friend, and soulmate Dossie Derryberry; and her children, Cynthia (James) McHargue, Kathy Cooper, Thomas (Barbara) Derryberry, Roger (Cleo) Clark, and Ronald Clark.
Gwin loved being a grandmother to Blaise (Abby) Bennett, Lacie Lugo, Angela (Ray) Curtis, Elizabeth Strain, Nathan McHargue, Victoria McHargue, Crissa (Chris) Jeffery, Benjamin (Christen) Derryberry, Sonya Derryberry, and Mary (Michael) Janis; as well as a host of great-grandchildren that she helped raise with lots of love and advice.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Gwin will be Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Lonoke Business Academy, (755 E Front St, Lonoke, Arkansas 72086). Cremation arrangements by Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home, (501) 982-2136.
