George Robert "Johnny" Johnston
March 4, 1934 — October 31, 2023
George Robert “Johnny” Johnston, 89, of Pleasant Plains, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born March 4, 1934 in Wicket, Texas to Wyley Washington Johnston and Edna Victoria Waddill. He was a cargo operator and a member of the Sunnyside General Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, cooking and taking care of others. He also served in the Marine Corp.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sadie Marie Johnston; one son, Robert Keith Johnston; three sisters, Dessie Orene Crouch, Nellie Evelyn Brock, Edna Wynona Kelley; and his grandson, Brian Keith Johnston.
He is survived by his two daughters, Cindy Johnston of Little Rock, Arkansas and Debbie Brock of Alvin, Texas; his brother, Charles Johnston of Angleton, Texas; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held Friday, November 3, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lancaster-Verser Cemetery in Prim, Arkansas with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel.
