Zelphia Mae McClellan age 87, of New Edinburg, AR. died Sunday, April 5th at Bradley County Medical Center. She was born January 29, 1922 in Rison, AR,. a daughter of the late Walter Keith and Gracie Puckett Keith. She was a homemaker, a member of Emmaus Missionary Baptist Church, member of the Order of the Eastern Star with 50 year pin, member of the Extension Homemakers Club with 50 year pin and the widow of Alvin "Bill" McClellan whom she married August 24, 1940 and he died April 30, 1984. Also proceeding her in death is a brother Clarence Keith.
She is survived a son, James McClellan, Camden AR.; 3 daughters, Wilma Thornton and spouse Billy, Warren, AR. Wanda Carr and spouse Curtis, New Edinburg, AR. and Martha Smith, Van Buren, AR. 2 brothers Marvin Keith and Russell Keith both of Illinois. 3 sisters Aileen Coins, Pine Bluff AR., Laurene Ray, Shreveport, LA., and Nell Jacobs, Rison, AR. 8 Grandchildren Keith Thornton, Kevin Thornton, Johnny McClellan, David McClellan, Karen Smith, Amy Harper, Troye Smith and Dana Jackson. 15 Great-grandchildren and 3 Great-great-grandchildren. Also a whole host of friends and relatives.
Funeral services were 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 8th at Frazer's Chapel with Rev. Mike Taylor and Rev. Myron Smith officiating. Linda Barrett was pianist. Burial was in Moseley Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Danny Norris, Walter Del Santo, Ken Simmons, David Harper, Paul Jacobs, Sandy Nutt, Patrick Smith and Chris Harper. Memorials preferred the Gideon's or the ESTRAL. Christian Education Fund. C/O Mrs. Robin Baker #32 Snuggs Circle,. Mayflower, Arkansas 72105.
