DECATUR — Billy Carl Hopkins, 80, of Decatur died Jan. 13, 2008, at Springdale Health and Rehab. He was born April 2, 1927, in Gravette to Walter Hopkins and Rosa Arnold Hopkins.
He married Roberta Peterson, on May 26, 1948. He was a member of Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Gentry. He was a Navy veteran who served during Operation Crossroads, Bikini Atoll Nuclear Testing. He was a hatchery foreman for Peterson Industries for 46 years.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta; one son, Rob Hopkins and wife Tami of Decatur; one daughter, Lynda Lemke and husband Al of Siloam Springs; four grandchildren, Greg Lemke of Gentry, Amber Jones of Sebree, Ky., Brent Hopkins of Decatur and Megan Oaks of Decatur; two great-grandchildren
A celebration of his life will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Gentry with the Rev. Larry Hendren, Dr. John Terry and Buddy Ammermon officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery
Visitation. will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, www.wassonfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Schmieding Center for Senior Health and Education, 2422 N. Thompson, Springdale, 72764 or Victory Missionary Baptist Church, Gentry.

Roberta Lee Peterson Hopkins, 92, of Decatur, Arkansas, died on November 17, 2022, at Circle of Life, Springdale, Arkansas. She was born to John William Peterson and Eva Lillian McConnell Peterson, June 10, 1930, in Kanopolis, Kansas.
She is survived by daughter, Lynda Lemke and husband Alfred, of Gentry, Arkansas; son Robert ‘Rob’ Hopkins and wife Tami, of Decatur, Arkansas; granddaughter, Amber Jones and husband Chad, of Sebree, Kentucky; granddaughter, Megan Oaks and husband Brandon, of Gentry, Arkansas; grandson, Brent Hopkins and wife Sara, of Decatur, Arkansas; 7 great-grandchildren; and many other friends and family.
Roberta is preceded in death by parents, John William Peterson and Eva Lillian McConnell Peterson; husband, Billy Carl Hopkins; sister, Lowess Jasper; grandson, Greg Lemke; great-grandson, Wyatt Hopkins; nephew, Virgil Jasper; and nephew, Jay Jasper.
Visitation Service will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m., November 21, 2022 at Wasson Funeral Home, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
