June 23, 1891 - June 23, 1968
Mrs. Laura Mae, Holmes, 77, of 813 W. Oak St., died unexpectedly Sunday in a local hospital. Mrs. Holmes was born June 23, 1891, in Texas, the daughter of Salley Killion and J. P. Parris. She had been a resident of Union County since 1921, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of El Dorado. Survivors include four sons, Woodrow Holmes, Alhambra, Calif., Bill C. Holmes, Corpus Christi, Tex., Richard H. Holmes, Lake Charles, La.; one daughter, Mrs. Marjory H. Craig, Little Rock; three brothers, Nathan Parris, Austin, Tex., Jeff Parris, Monrovia, Calif., Bud Parris, Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Belle Langham, Tyler, Tex., Mrs. Mary Lou Holmes, Houston, Tex., 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Young's. (El Dorado Times - June 24, 1968)
