Delores
November 12, 1929 - June 23, 2022

Delores Hinde, aged 92, of Hot Springs, was called to be with the Lord on Thursday,
June 23, 2022. She was born on November 12, 1929, in Hollyrood, Kansas, the
daughter of Frank Doubrava and Josie Brejcha Doubrava. On December 30, 1952, she
married William Hinde, who preceded her in death on January 18, 2009. She was also
preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Alfred Doubrava; and two sisters and
brothers-in-law, Lou Ella Thompson and Ken Thompson and Irene Urbanek and Clifford
Urbanek.
Delores was a Christian in her faith and a member of the Glory Barn Church. She
worked as an executive secretary for 35 years to the President of Arkansas Valley State
Bank in Valley Center, Kansas. She was a member of the Poets of Roundtable of Hot
Springs and actively involved in many programs at her church, including the women's
bible study and supporting many church functions. She enjoyed writing poetry, tending to
her garden and cherished moments with her family and her beloved cat, Dolly Dee.
Swing music would keep her and her husband Bill spinning for hours on the dance floor.
An avid reader, she would devour any book she was handed and is remembered for
requesting her grandchildren's college textbooks so she could read them herself when
they were finished with them. She could sew any outfit she was presented with and her
daughter Jan fondly remembers Delores sewing her prom and homecoming dresses.
Delores and her husband Bill spent most of their free time on the lake. She could cook
anything on a campfire and was "one" with the outdoors. Her heart may have remained
in Kansas, but as a transplant to Arkansas, she celebrated the natural beauty of the
Ozarks. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Dr. Allen Gerber; her son and
daughter-in-law, Brent and Elizabeth Hinde; six grandchildren, Jennifer Gerber, Jason
(Kandace) Gerber, Anna Gerber, Amos Gerber, Spencer Hinde and Andrew Hinde;
three great-grandchildren, Harper Gerber, Hudson Gerber and Addison Gerber; two
sisters, Rose and Bob Small and Alice Macek and Gene Malir; several nieces, nephews,
extended family and many good friends.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 29, 2022, in the Smith Family
Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.
Interment will be in the Crestview Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tues, June 28th from 6:00PM-8:00PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Brent Hinde, Jason Gerber, Jennifer Gerber, Annie Gerber, Sonny Kay and Jared Fisher.
