AGED CENTERTON WOMAN DIED AT OLD HOME SUNDAY

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Allison Giger, aged 79, widow of the late C.N. Giger, who died at her home in Centerton, this county, Sunday afternoon, Feb. 16th, 1936, after a week’s illness, were held at 10:30 o’clock Tuesday morning at the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, at Centerton, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Irl Bridenthal. Music was by the church choir with Mrs. Don Miller as accompanist, and the pallbearers were Lewis Chastain, H.O. Brooks, Fred Troutt, Dean Goode, Keet Gravett, and Carl Suilivan. Burial was in the Centerton cemetery, with funeral arrangements directed by the Burns Funeral Home of Bentonville.

Mrs. Giger was a daughter of Thomas and Mary Jane Allison and was born at Harrisonville, Mo., March 7th, 1857. She was married to the late C.N. Giger at Carthage, Mo. They moved to Arkansas and settled here in Benton County 51 years ago and Mrs. Giger has lived in the home in which she died for 35 years. Mr. Giger died there in 1924.

She is survived by three sons, Jess, Roy and Ben Giger, at Centerton, and by three daughters, Mrs. Laura Gipple of Centerton; Mrs. C.D. Conner, of Sapulpa. Okla.; and Mrs. Lucy Dunham, of Fullerton, Calif. She is survived also by four sisters, Mrs. Will Giger, of Los Angeles; Miss Virginia Lewis, of Fullerton, Calif.; Mrs. Nellie Dunham, of Fullerton, and Mrs. Harry Grammenger, of Venice, Calif.; and by two grandchildren, Robert and Dale Giger, of Centerton.

The Giger farm and home is situated in the edge of the town of Centerton and in respect to the memory of Mrs. Giger and her family the Centerton business houses closed during the funeral home.
