John
July 12, 1879 - September 11, 1961

John Aaron loved to smoke his pipe, but Lottie wouldn't let him smoke in the house, so he would smoke outside on the porch in all kinds of weather.

During the winters, while they were living on the farm near Van Buren, Arkansas, John would pull a log behind the horse to make a trail in the snow so their kids could walk to school easily.

He was a very kind, quiet man, but somewhat dominated by Lottie, who had a complaining temperament. To those who knew Lottie well, she was a shy person who had trouble showing any affections, but was really a loving, caring person.

On December 30, 1900. John and Lottie rode a mule to Cove City, Arkansas to be married.

In his later years John worked at a neighborhood green house and loved to work with flowers.
He always had a good garden. When I was 10 years old he showed me how to pick off the buds and leave only one strong bud of the Chrysanthemum plant in order to produce the large "football" mums.

John Aaron and Lottie Lovett had seven children - all born in Crawford County, Arkansas
