Alverne Young Wallace, 80, of Magnolia, AR passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 at her residence.
Alverne was born April 3, 1939 in Magnolia, AR to the late Spurgeon Young and Dorothy Bryant Young.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 61 years, Jim Wallace. Alverne is survived by her daughters Tena Simpson and husband Keith of Magnolia and Vicki Brown and husband Craig of Benton; grandchildren Hayden Simpson and Landon Simpson of Conway, Logan Thompson of Shreveport, and Caylin Thompson of Conway; sisters Shirley Baker and husband Donald of Magnolia, Judy Reeves of Waldo; furry, loyal companion "Kirby;" and a host of extended family and friends.
Alverne touched many lives throughout her 38 years working as a receptionist for the Beene Family Dentistry. She found pleasure in the simple things in life, but her greatest joy was being a wife, mother and Nana.
She was a longtime faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Magnolia.
The family would like to extended their deepest gratitude to Lifetouch Hospice, Southern Caregivers and Mae Sue Grissom for their sincere love and care.
Please join us in celebrating her life with visitation Monday, December 2, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Roger Dunlap officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch East Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Hayden Simpson, Landon Simpson, Logan Thompson, Allan Baker, John David Reeves, and Brian Reeves.
The family requests memorial donations are made to First Baptist Church, PO Box 456, Magnolia, AR 71754.
