Mr. Ray Louis Kraus of Fort Smith(Sebastian County), Arkansas, died Monday, June 9, 2008, in Fort Smith. He was 92 years old. Mr. Kraus was a retired employee for Evan's Construction Company after 30 years of faithful service. He was their Secretary-Treasurer and bookkeeper. Mr. Kraus also worked for 20 years as the bookkeeper for Jeffrey Sand and Gravel. He was a member of the Grand Avenue Baptist Church.
Mr. Kraus was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife: Zelma Kraus; a daughter: Doris Williams of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two sons: Lawrence Kraus of Greenstown, Indiana and Robert Kraus of Fort Smith, Arkansas; 6 wonderful grandchildren; and 8 precious great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at 10:00a.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.

Pallbearers were: Lewis Kraus, Nathan Williams, Ralph Grace, Richard Bennett, Wes Hansen and Mike Clark.

Zelma
January 16, 1913 - February 22, 2009

Zelma L. Kraus, 96, of Fort Smith died peacefully in her daughter's home on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009. Zelma was a homemaker and the loving wife of her husband of 67 years, the late Ray L. Kraus. She was also a faithful member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church since 1950.

Zelma is survived by four children, Doris Williams and husband, Paul of Fort Smith, Lawrence Kraus and wife, Darline of Greentown, Ind., Robert Kraus and wife, Glenda of Fort Smith and Lewis Kraus of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Karen Clark and Nathan Williams of Fort Smith, Amy Tecmire of Norfolk, Va., Melanie Hansen of Joplin, Mo., and Lori Kraus of Greentown, Ind.; one great-granddaughter, Turner Grace Tecmire of Norfolk, Va.; eight great-grandsons, Kaleb and Jake Hansen of Joplin, Mo., Garrett and Gavin Clark of Fort Smith, Noah and Jordan Kraus of Greentown, Ind., Carter Tecmire of Norfolk, Va., and Owen Williams of Fort Smith; and one sister, Thelma Grace of Van Buren.

Zelma was preceded in death by her parents, Wade and Minnie Tackett; five brothers, Roy, Clifford, J.P., Henry and Harlon Tackett; and two sisters, Floy Mae Kane and Hattie Bennett.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with her burial following the service at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Lewis Kraus, Nathan Williams, Lt. Cmdr. Craig Tecmire, David Hughes, Wes Hansen and Mike Clark.
