Opal L. Shelby Humphrey, 79, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 5, 1923, in Cecil. She was retired from Holt Krock Clinic and a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Woodrow Shelby and Bud Humphrey.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Sherman Shelby of Alma and Gerald Gann Shelby of Tulsa; two stepdaughters, Doris Loree Dickerson of Subiaco and Susan Marie Ross of Ozark; two stepsons, Danny Humphrey of Tulsa and Riley Humphrey of Van Buren; a sister, Ola Sharp of Pocola; four grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren and five great-grandchildren
Pallbearers will be Clifton Jameson, Jack Lasey, David Kenney, Robert Shelby, Leland and Gene Martin.
