CROSSMAN, Arthur E. - A.E. Crossman, a well known citizen of east Benton county, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. B.B. Kilgo, at Best shortly after midnight Tuesday morning. A son, Hal Crossman, and one daughter, Mrs. Millard Croxdale, both of Rogers, survive him. Mr. Crossman had been a resident of this section for a long time.

A.E. Crossman died Tuesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. B.B. Kilgo, at Best, east of War Eagle. Mr. Crossman had been in failing health for several years, unable to get away from home for most of the past two years. Funeral services were held at the Kilgo home yesterday afternoon at two o'clock and were conducted by Rev. Ben H. Moore, former pastor of the Presbyterian church of Rogers. Mr. Crossman was a member of the Methodist Church, South but the pastor was out of the city. Burial was in the cemetery at War Eagle where a son, Lloyd, was buried a number of years ago. For nearly thirty years Mr. Crossman was one of the best known men on the east side of the county. Locating at War Eagle in 1892 he was a miller for many years; served as postmaster and justice of the peace and conducted a farm there. He was a Past Master of Rogers lodge F. & A.M.; and took an active interest in all movements for the betterment of the community and county until failing health compelled his retirement. Arthur E. Crossman was a native of Iowa, being born April 2, 1858. When a small boy he moved with his parents to Carthage, Mo. where he lived until he came to Benton county in 1892. He was married December 22, 1880 to Miss Lura Board who survives him, as do also six children and twelve grandchildren. The children are Mrs. Grace Marshall of Houston, Texas; Hal Crossman and Mrs. Beth Croxdale of Rogers; Mrs. Fern Kilgo of Best; Royce Crossman of Sedro-Wooley, Wash. and Ronald Crossman of Little Rock.
