Mrs. Stella E. Hicks, 75, of Norphlet died in an El Dorado hospital Monday morning after a long illness. Born May 20, 1892, Lonoke County, Arkansas, she was the daughter of H. G. and Etta Howell Elmore. She had been a resident of Norphlet for the past 33 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norphlet. Survivors include three sons, W. H. Hicks, Jr., Donald T. Hicks and Calvin E. Hicks, all of Norphlet; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Clawson, Norphlet; six brothers, D. B. Elmore, Little Rock, Elmer Elmore, Jacksonville, Lewis Elmore, H. G. Elmore and Harry Elmore, all of Cabot, and Lee Elmore, Lonoke; two sisters, Mrs. Ben Brook, Little Rock and Mrs. E. H. Trickey, Jacksonville; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be in the First Baptist Church of Norphlet Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Zane Chesser officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery by Rumph Mortuary.
