Funeral services for Mrs. Amy Neal, 82, who died Saturday at her home in Morning Star will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church. Mrs. Neal was born in Lisbon, La., the daughter of Peter and Vinie Minniefield Coleman. At an early age she joined Mt. Pleasant Baptist, Lisbon where she remained until she moved away. She lived in Wheeling Springs for a short time and worked in the Baptist Church there. Later she moved to El Dorado and joined the First Baptist and served in the church there. After settling in the Morning Star Addition she joined Morning Star Baptist Church and remained until death. Mrs. Neal was married to William Neal, December, 1901. To this union four children were born. Her survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Mary Neal Maker, El Dorado; two sons, Alton Neal, Muskogee, Okla., and Albert Neal, El Dorado; three granddaughters, Mrs. Kathryn Hammock, Ruston, La., Mrs. Betty Penny, Berkley, Calif. and Mrs. Billie Jo Creptal, Los Angeles, Calif.; seven grandchildren. Burial will be in Morning Star Cemetery under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home. (The El Dorado Times - July 28, 1965)
