Sister Arma Jean Burgie Nunley life journey began on May 27, 1933 born to the parents of Ervin and Irene Goodwin Burgie in El Dorado, Arkansas. Her life journey ended on Friday, January 26, 2018 at John R. Williamson Hospice House, El Dorado, AR. She united with Morning Star Baptist Church #2 at an early age under the leadership of Reverend H. G. Goodwin and remained a member until death. Sister Nunley was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Robert E. Nunley, four brothers, Willie Scales, Samson, Jhue, and Jack Burgie, three sisters, Rosie Lee Hall, Arizona Amos and Odessa Carter. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband for over sixty years, George Washington Nunley, El Dorado, AR; one son, Terry Nunley, El Dorado, AR; three sisters, Earlie T. Brown, El Dorado, AR, Naomi Russell, and Bertha Wilkins both of San Angelo, TX; two step-daughters, Mildred Gamble and Geneva Loveless both of Little Rock, AR; two grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be Friday, February 2, 2018 from 12 noon until 4:30 p.m. at Sims Mortuary. Services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Morning Star Baptist Church with Reverend Felton Burgie, eulogist. Interment will be at Morning Star Cemetery under the direction of Sims Mortuary.
