Gladys Boyd Giles, 86, former Darby Junior High science teacher and University of Arkansas instructor, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2007 in Little Rock.
She was born in Lavaca, Arkansas to T.J. and Alta Craft Boyd. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and five sisters. She attended Lavaca Schools where she was the valedictorian of the 1938 senior class.
She was a member of the Fort Smith United Methodist Church, she was active in the Eastern Star and the National Association of University Women.
Funeral Service will be 12:30 Friday, May 4, 2007 at Roebuck Chapel of the First United Methodist Church with burial at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
She is survived by one brother: Reverend Archie N. Boyd of Van Buren; several nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Wayne McFerran, James Earl Boyd, Edward Boyd, James Strang, Earle Overton, and David Overton.
