September 3, 1938 - April 8, 2018
Barbara Ann Garner, 79, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 in a local hospital.
She was born on September 3, 1938 in San Diego, CA to Lawrence R. and Velma (Payne) Dehart-Hepp.
She was a retired factory worker from Corrugated Specialties and previous to that was a waitress for several different restaurants. Barbara was instrumental in obtaining the names for the Armed Forces Veteran Memorial located in Roland, Oklahoma. She was of the Baptist Faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her step father, Leslie Hepp and a brother, John Hepp.
She is survived by her two sons, Alan Maxwell and his wife Barbara of Fort Smith, AR and Jim Maxwell of Austin, TX; one daughter, Marilyn Childress of Fort Smith, AR; her sister, Linda McNeal and her husband George of Perryville, AR; a brother, Wayne Hepp and his wife Pat of Maumelle, AR; five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 1:00PM, Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers are the American Veteran Motorcycle Club.
