February 28, 1951 - May 15, 2019
Glenda Kaye Lawrence Richard, 68, of El Dorado passed away May 15, 2019 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas after a sudden illness. Born on February 28, 1951 in El Dorado, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Jackson Lee “Jack” Lawrence and Marjorie “Margie” Crain Lawrence. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Glenda was faithful in her belief in the Lord and was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. Affectionately known as Gran by all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even some children of friends who she loved like her own, she never missed an opportunity to be involved in all parts of her family’s lives. Always a homeroom mother, campfire leader, softball mom and grandmother. She was the biggest cheerleader for her kids and grandkids whether it was baseball, football, dance or band. She did her best to never miss a game or a dance recital, which was quite a feat as the family continued to grow. She was a dear friend to many and will be sorely missed by all.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, William E. (Billy), two daughters, Christina Hostetter and husband Dan, Shannon Wood and husband Tony, all of El Dorado; Six grandchildren, Kristen Hildebrand and husband Walker, Daniel Hostetter, Jr., Jackson Hostetter, Ashton Drummond and wife Lexi, Andrew Drummond and Austin Drummond; great-grandchildren Cameron Hildebrand, Jensen Hildebrand, Lincoln Hildebrand, Grayson Drummond and Gavin Drummond who is expected any day now; two brothers, Terry Don Lawrence and wife Brenda, and Barry Lawrence all of El Dorado; one sister, Marilyn Brown of Arlington, Texas; a special cousin, Rita Crain Jones; and “adopted” granddaughter, Sophie Lowery; Granddog Nola who is lost without her gran; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
Visitation will be Friday, May 17, 2019, at Perry’s Funeral Chapel from 6 to 8 pm. Graveside service will be Saturday, May 18, 2019, at 10:00 am at Wyatt-Parnell Cemetery with Glenda’s cousin, Bill Robertson officiating. Funeral Services provided by Perry’s Funeral Chapels.
