Rachel Groves 86 of El Dorado, AR; died on Monday, August 9, 2010 at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
Born on August 12, 1923 in Union County, Rachel was the daughter of Charley and Julia Sisco Fife. A homemaker, she was an active person hunting and fishing, cooking and canning, tending to her milk cows and chickens, and working in flower and vegetable garden. Rachel was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, several infant brothers and sisters, a brother Preston Fife, sisters Ruby Masoner and Ophelia Peat Wales, and her husband George Groves.
Survivors are daughters Frances Webb of Norphlet and Nell Williams of El Dorado, sons Charlie Elmer Groves of Moro Bay and Clifford Wayne Groves of El Dorado. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a great great-grandson.
Funeral services will be 10 am, Thursday, August 12, 2010 at El Dorado Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Hudson and Rev. Bob Inmon officiating. Interment will follow at Green Grove Chapel s cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Bailey Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to El Dorado Missionary Baptist Church, 3014 East Main Street, El Dorado, AR 71730
