April 24, 1907 - March 4, 1965
Mrs. Alma Baker Fife, 58, of Strong, former resident of Ouachita County, died unexpectedly at Strong Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Fife had lived in Strong for the past 15 years, and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Preston Fife; five sons, Jesse Fife, Billy Fife and Kenneth Fife, all of Strong, John D. Fife of Bastrop, La., and Preston Fife, Jr. of Michigan; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Ellen Hogue and Miss Dorothy Fife, both of Strong, Mrs. Betty Wallace of El Dorado; a brother, Marion Baker of strong; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Cash and Miss Bertie Baker, both of Strong, and 16 grand children. Funeral services have been set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at The Oak Grove Baptist Church, near Strong. Burial will be in the Green Grove Cemetery under the direction of Proctor Funeral Service of Camden. The body was taken to the family residence, north of Strong, to lie in state until service time. Pallbearers will be Z. Stanley, A. J. Taylor, Robert Deeds, Thomas Massey, M. C. Massey and Otis Hines. (The El Dorado Times - March 6, 1965)
