April 16, 1935 - January 15, 1965
Huey P. Gathright, 29, aq former resident of Strong, died in Biloxi, Miss., early Friday morning. Born in Strong, he was the son of Jim Bob and Jocie Wells Gathright. He had lived in Biloxi for 10 years, where he was employed by the Borden Milk Co. He was a member of the Big Ridge Pentecostal Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Shirley Jean Gathright of Biloxi; a son, Huey P. Gathright, Jr., and a daughter, Shelia Marie Gathright, both of the home; his mother, Mrs. Jocie Gathright of Biloxi; a sister, Mrs. Beatrice Frisby of Biloxi; and his grandparents, S. P. Gathright of Huttig and S. E. Wells of West Monroe, La. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Green Grove Church near Strong with Rev. Carl Frisby and Rev. W. E. Porter officiating. Burial will be in Green Grove Cemetery by Rumph Mortuary. (The El Dorado Times - January 15, 1965)
