FAYETTEVILLE — Dr. Clyde Dewey Mueller, 92, of Fayetteville died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010. He was born on April 23, 1918, in Sawyer, Kan., to Ferdinand and Sophia Gottscbe Mueller; he was preceded in death by his parents and 11 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Enid L. Stoops Mueller, and eight children, Merrill and Susan Mueller of Chester, Calif., Benjamin and Laura Mueller of Edgerton, Kan., Mark and Brenda Mueller of Modesto, Calif., Jan and John Neumuth of Andover, Conn., Leigh and John Buckmaster of Siloam, Ark., Elizabeth and Jim Sledge of Farmington, Ark., Kristina Mueller of Greenwood, Ark., and Marilyn Mueller of Fayetteville, Ark.; as well as 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Dr. Mueller graduated from Kansas State University and received his Ph.D. in animal husbandry at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. He served in World War II, was on the Poultry Department staff at K-State and the Computing Department at U of A in Fayetteville. He was a poultry geneticist for Arbor Acres in Connecticut and Marshall's Poultry in Scotland.
Funeral arrangements are handled by Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville. Private graveside service was at Mount Comfort Cemetery in Fayetteville at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010.

FAYETTEVILLE — Enid Lorraine (Stoops) Mueller, of Fayetteville, Ark., died Oct. 9, 2018. She celebrated her 100th birthday at home, in July, with a gathering of family members from across the U.S. Born July 14, 1918, in Sawyer, Kan., to John & Elizabeth (Peachey) Stoops, Enid was predeceased by her husband Clyde, in 2010.
She is survived by her eight children: Jan and John Neumuth, Andover, Conn.; Leigh and John Buckmaster, Siloam Springs, Ark.; Merrill and Susan Mueller, Paradise, Calif.; Benjamin and Laura Mueller, Edgerton, Kan.; Elizabeth and James Sledge, Farmington, Ark.; Kristina Mueller, Greenwood, Ark.; Marilyn Mueller, Fayetteville, Ark.; Mark and Brenda Mueller, Modesto, Calif. Also 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and a cousin, Karen Orr in Dallas, Texas.
Enid graduated from Sawyer High School in 1936, and Kansas State University at Manhattan, Kan., in 1940. She & Clyde were married in Ithica, N.Y., in 1940, where he was getting his PhD at Cornell University. After her husband joined the Army during WWII, Enid & Jan would visit him at various bases throughout the U.S. Enid and Clyde and a growing family lived in New York, Kansas, Connecticut, and California, finally settling in Fayetteville, Ark., in 1969.
Reading her Bible daily was a loved activity of Enid's, as was the old art of letter writing. She was a great cook, passing Kansas recipes down to her family. Needlework and knitting were favorite hobbies, and in later years as she slowed down, she enjoyed watching & identifying birds from her window.
A private graveside service was held on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at Mt. Comfort Cemetery in Fayetteville under the direction of Moore's Funeral Chapel.
