WEDINGION — Ivan Arthur McFarland, 91, of Wedington died Aug. 16, 2009, at his home. He was born Oct. 21, 1917, in Lebanon, Kan., to Loyd and Emma Goldsworth McFarland.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a son, Denny Edgin of Prairie Grove; a daughter, Tawana Hillian of Fayetteville; three brothers; a sister; four grandsons; 10 great-grandchildren three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Comfort Cemetery in Fayetteville.

Memorials may be made to Mount Comfort Cemetery Association, 6236 W. Wedington Drive, Fayetteville, 72704.

FAYETTEVILLE — Geneva McFarland, 81, of Fayetteville died Sept. 8, 2006, at her home. She was born Feb. 12, 1925, in Prairie Grove to Leo and Jewel Dowell Thomas. She attended the White Rock Pentecostal Church. She was a member of the Savoy Quilters Club. She worked for a number of years at the Earl Williams Grocery Store. She loved to quilt, make flower arrangements, cook and participant in all kinds of crafts. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Emma Jean Edgin, and one grandson, Terry Dean Edgin.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Ivan McFarland of the home; one son, Denny Edgin and wife Clarice of Prairie Grove; one daughter, Tawana Hillian and husband Larry of Fayetteville; one brother, Billy Dale Thomas of Prairie Grove; four grandsons; 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove with Larry Bonds officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount Comfort Cemetery near Fayetteville.

Pallbearers will be Mike Hillian, Randy Edgin, Robert Hillian, Michael Hillian, Elissa Hillian and Allison Hillian. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Edgin, Grant Edgin, Haley Hillian, Chloe Hillian, Kristal Edgin and Nichole Edgin.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home online at www.luginbuel.com.
