Rebecca A. (Becky Wright) Chancey departed this Earth Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018.
She was born Aug. 12, 1926, in Fort Smith to Essie and Morgan Wright.
Becky graduated from Fort Smith High School in 1944 and attended both Hendrix College and the University of Arkansas. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Builders Sunday school class. Becky was also a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and the Chapter AS PEO.
She married J.P. Chancey Jr., DDS, on April 3, 1947. They were separated by J.P.'s death on May 20, 2012, after 62 wonderful years of marriage.
She was predeceased by her brother, Morgan Wright Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Lucia Chancey of Alma; son, Joe Chancey and wife Laura of North Little Rock; grandchildren, Heather Keller and husband Mike of El Reno, Okla., and Alex, Samuel, Jeremiah and Riley Chancey of North Little Rock; as well as two great-grandchildren, Tatum and Piper Keller of El Reno; and numerous granddogs and grandhorses. She will be missed dearly.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Following the service the family will visit with friends. Private burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Becky's biggest joys in life were her family, her church, caring for others and her love for animals.
