Ms. Muriel Lavern Bell, of Mena, Arkansas, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009, in Mena. She was 94 years, 4 months, and 10 days old.
She was the daughter of the late David Willis Norman and the late Myra Elora (Livingston)Norman.
Ms. Bell was married to the late Joseph Robert Bell. She was a salesperson for Hunts Department Store for many years, and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Ms. Bell was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.
She is survived by: a daughter: Frances Harvey and husband Earl of Acorn, Arkansas; 3 sons: Dr. Bob Bell and wife Joyce of Texarkana, Texas, Norman "Bud" Bell and wife Donna of Owasso, Oklahoma, Reverend David Bell and wife Debbie of Garden City, Kansas; a brother: James Norman and wife Marge of McKinney, Texas; a sister: Dorothy Jewett of Grand Rapids, Minnesota; a daughter-in-Law: Ina Bell of Springdale, Arkansas; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Myra Norman, her husband, Joseph Robert Bell, and a son, James "Dickie" Bell.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 19, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Mena, Arkansas. Brother David McCord officiated the service. Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery in Ft. Smith (Sebastian County), Arkansas.
Pallbearers were: Ms. Bell's grandsons.
