Marguerite Andrews, 97, of Fort Smith died Saturday, March 7, 2009, in Fort Smith. She was born June 15, 1911, in Cowley, Kan., to Willis and Ida Marjorie Ham. She was a proud graduate of England's Oxford University. She was a retired school nurse for the Arkoma Public School System and retired from Sparks Regional Medical Center.
She was an original member of the Fort Smith Symphony, in which she played the cello. She was a longtime member of St. John's Episcopal Church, where she oversaw the church library.
She is survived by her church family and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Andrews.
Memorial service will be Thursday, March 12, 2009, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, and burial of cremains will be prior to her service at Roselawn Cemetery, all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
