**Obituary
Kittie Ruth Davis Cowling died September 25, 2017. She was born May 7, 1934, in Batesville, Arkansas, the daughter of Allen and Opal Bradford Davis.
Kittie was a graduate of Batesville High School and Ouachita Baptist College (now University) and a member of First Baptist Church of Batesville. On June 10, 1956, she married Jesse Dean Cowling, who survives her.
Mrs. Cowling worked for 18 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She also pursued a serious avocation as a keyboard (organ, piano) instrumentalist for Baptist churches from her age 15 until very recently.
In addition to her husband, the deceased is survived by one son, one brother, and a grandchild.
The essence of the life of Kittie Davis Cowling can be expressed by a Latin phrase in the spirit of which she made her lifelong Christian ministry contributions through music: Soli Deo gloria,''To God alone the glory.''
Private interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery of Batesville.
A service of memory and celebration of Kittie's life shall occur at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2017, in the worship center of First Baptist Church in Batesville to be followed by a fellowship.
