Funeral services for Herman STEELE Sr., 81, of Hackett, Ark., were held at 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Lewis Funeral Chapel in Lavaca, Ark. Burial was in Hickory Ridge Cemetery east of Lavaca, under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Lavaca. Mr. STEELE was born July 28, 1923 in Lavaca. He died Tuesday, May 24, 2005 in Greenwood, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; two daughters, Brenda and Kathy; two sons, Herman Jr. and Greg; four sisters, Barbara, Virginia, Lucy, and Mary; four brothers, Elbert, Jesse, Kenneth and Eugene; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Ruth Ellen (Wilson) Steele June 30, 1927 - January 10, 2020
Ruth Ellen Steele, who resided near Hackett, died Friday, January 10, 2020, at Pink Bud Nursing Center in Greenwood. She was born June 30, 1927, in Lavaca, to the late Orville Wilson and Grace Hunter Wilson. She was 92 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman C. Steele; a son, Edward Duane Steele; three sisters, Maxine, Imogene, and Ila; one brother, Bill; two grandchildren, Melissa Ann Pierce and Truman Gwartney.
Ruth was a homemaker.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Burial will be at Hickory Ridge Cemetery, located east of Lavaca, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by two daughters, B.J. Gwartney and husband Truman of Greenwood and Kathy Pierce and husband Tony of Leakesville, Mississippi; two sons, Herman Carl Steele, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Hackett and Gregory Steele and wife Kay of Pasadena, California; a brother, Glen Wilson of Lavaca; four grandchildren, Brian Steele, Shelley Claywell, Lori Walley, and Eddie Steele; eleven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family members.
