He is survived by wife Bessie Freeman Hunter; one daughter, Terri Wallmark & son-in-law, Jeffry of Van Buren; 1 son, Steven Hunter & daughter-in-law, Karen of Ft Smith; 2 sisters, Helen Jones & brother-in-law, Jack, of Ft Smith & Jean Hay & brother-in-law; Paul of Las Cruces, N.M.; 6 grandchildren

Bessie Hunter, 80, of Fort Smith, AR passed away September 12, 2016.

She was born August 24, 1936 at Arbuckle Island, AR. She was a long time employee for Walmart. She was preceded in death by her parents Audie and Sallie Eubanks Freeman and her husband Jack L. Hunter.

Funeral service will be held 1:30 PM Friday September 16, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Fort Smith under the direction of Smith Mortuary, Charleston, AR. Burial will follow at Hickory Ridge Cemetery Lavaca, AR.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Terri Hunter Wallmark and husband Jeffry of Fort Smith, her son Steven Hunter and wife Karen of Fort Smith; one sister Mary White of Dardanelle, one brother John Oscar Freeman of Cecil, six grandchildren Sally Hunter of Fayetteville, Shannon Hunter Salinas of Van Buren, Shane Hunter of Anchorage, AK, Shelby Hunter of Fort Smith, Christopher Chancey of Fort Smith and Jacki Chancey of Fort Smith, three step grandchildren, Miranda Stanley of Charleston, SC, Zack Wallmark of Van Buren, Aaron Wallmark of Van Buren and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8PM Thursday Smith Mortuary Charleston, AR.

Pallbearers will be Shane Hunter, Shelby Hunter, Miguel Salinas, Christopher Chancey, Zack Wallmark and Aaron Wallmark.
