John T. (Jake) Mosier, 77, of Rt. 4, El Dorado died Sunday morning near his home of an apparent heart attack. Mr. Mosier was born Oct. 10, 1887 at Ashland City, Teen. and was the son of Nanie and J. P. Mosier. He was a retired pumper for the Gulf Oil Corp. and had lived in the Norphlet area since the early 1920's. He was a member of the first Baptist Church of Norphlet. Survivors include a stepson, R. E. Mosier of Camden; a stepdaughter, Mrs. L. H. Norman of Glenview, Ill.; two brothers, Andrew Mosier of Nashville, Tenn., and Jesse Mosier of Plesant View, Tenn.; and two sisters, Mrs. E. E. Brinkley of Ashland City and Mrs. Murel Darrow of Peoria, Ill. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Norphlet Baptist Church with the Rev. Zane Chesser officiating. Interment was in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young's. Pallbearers were Buddy Riggs, Ed Mccall, James Nordmeyer, Charles McCall, A. L. Blackwell, Ed Clawson, Roy Hollier, and Dwight Lambert. (The El Dorado Times - January 5, 1965)
