WASHBURN, Mo.— Billie Sarah Ann (Townsend) Main, 71, left this world in the early hours on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at her home in Washburn, Mo., with her husband Willis and family by her side. She was born Feb. 24, 1950, in Rogers, Ark.

She was united in marriage to Willis Main on Aug. 8, 1980.

Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Velma Townsend of Little Flock, Ark., brothers Johnny Townsend and Herbert Townsend, both of Washburn, and sisters Mabel Jo Walden of Avoca, Ark., and Pauline Beaman of Blythe, Ga.

She is survived by husband Willis Main of the home; daughters Sarah Hill of Washburn, Leslie Fontenot and husband Chuck of Rogers, Ark., and Janie Mulkey and husband Bruce, also of Washburn; bonus sons Dennis Main of Elkins, Ark., and Jimmy Main of Gentry, Ark.; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved. She is also survived by brothers Howard Townsend and wife Betty of Avoca and Tom Townsend and wife Ruth of Washburn; sisters Loneta Blevins of Rogers, Patsy Guyll and husband James of Avoca, Connie Dorey, Linda Jester and Mary Sinclair, all of Washburn.

Billie worked for Walmart in their distribution centers in Bentonville, Ark., for many years in inventory and quality control. After she enjoyed several years of early retirement with her family, she joined the Kraft Foods customer service team as an administrative assistant where she enjoyed the office atmosphere. A few years later, she again retired to enjoy her life.

She enjoyed riding horses, taking Jeep rides with the love of her life, camping and spending time with family. Billie enjoyed drinking coffee while sitting at the patio, watching the birds and enjoying the country life, from sunrise to sunset. She could sit and visit for hours.

She was an amazing cook and always made her home open to family and friends for cookouts and celebrations. She loved her family beyond measure, and got so much enjoyment from watching her grandkids play in the backyard. She enjoyed a good shopping trip, and was a great interior decorator.

Billie was a strong woman, and overcame many challenges in her life, from raising three girls on her own before she met Willis, to dealing with multiple medical issues throughout her life, but in the end, she conquered them all. Billie was funny, kind, loving, hard-working, smart, and one-of-a-kind. She's our hero and will be missed forever and a day.

Visitation will be held May 19, 2021, from 5-8 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers, Ark. Funeral service will be held May 20, 2021, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Washburn, Mo. Burial to follow at Pace's Chapel Cemetery.
