Albert Neal Johnston, age 85, of Heber Springs went to be with the Lord November 19, 2016 at White County Medical Center in Searcy. Born February 5, 1931 in El Dorado, Arkansas he was the son of the late John Henry and Ophelia Roberson Johnston. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Nazarene Church in Heber Springs.

He dearly loved spending time with his family and church family. He spent a lot of time outdoors fishing, hunting, traveling and camping. His family commented that many times people would say how wonderful their parents were and they would reply that they completely agree. He was the kind of husband, father and friend whose strength, guidance, humor and day to day presence will be missed by many.

Mr. Johnston was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dorothy Mae Calloway.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Marcia Poole Johnston of Heber Springs, whom he married September 7, 1950; two daughters: Marsha Lynn Bloxom and husband, James, of Heber Springs and Jeannie Kay Ellen and husband, Lee of Rosebud; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2016 at Heber Springs Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 12:00 p.m. to service time with Bro. Marvin Frederick officiating. A graveside service will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. November 26, 2016 at Rest Haven Cemetery in El Dorado.
