Mrs. Madeline Lucille Johnston, 60, of Beaumont, Tex., died Thursday in a Beaumont hospital, after a lengthy illness. She was a native of Leesville, La., and a resident of El Dorado for 40 years, where she and the late Roy A. Johnston operated a restaurant. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Mack Gunn, of Beaumont; two sons, X. P. Johnston, of Shreveport, La., and R. A. Johnston, Jr., of Houston, Tex.; three brothers, Orrie Jordan, of Sulphur, La., and Bill Jordan, of Pasadena, Tex., and Halbert Jordan, of Pineland, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Vertie Clark and Mrs. Margaret Harvey, both of Beaumont; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the Broussard Mortuary Chapel in Beaumont, Tex. Burial will follow Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Arlington Cemetery, with Bishop Earl Griffin, officiating and Elder Ralph Meadows assisting. (El Dorado Times - April 12, 1969)
