Martha Ann Pennington, 87, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 following a brief illness. Martha was born in El Dorado, AR on July 12, 1935 to the late Glen and Ada Mae Jones. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Barnes "Bussey" Pennington; an infant son, John Michael Pennington; and a brother, Charles Davis Jones.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Martha's absolute greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a beautiful, loving, strong, Christian woman.

Before her retirement, she worked in the business office at the Medical Center of South Arkansas and was a member of Dumas Memorial Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children, David Pennington (Tanya), Jeff M. Pennington, Vicki Bledsoe (Robert), Steven Pennington (BJ), and Richard Pennington (Larken) all of Union County. Martha has 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 5 great, great grandchildren. She also leaves behind 2 sisters, Barbara Scharbor of El Dorado and Sandra Henley of Hope.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2023 at Dumas Memorial Methodist Church. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Pat Daugherty officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
