Mrs. Fannie Maebell Almon, 76, of Norphlet, died Friday morning in a local hospital following an illness of several months. Born Jan. 26, 1894, at Pleasant Hill, La., she was the daughter of Fate and Nancy Smith Graves,. Mrs. Almon had been a resident of Norphlet for the past 45 years. She was a member of the Norphlet First Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Ralph Almon, Bossier City, La., Johnnie Almon, Portland, Ore., and Franklyn Eugene Almon, Bartlesville, Okla.; four daughters, Mrs. E. E. Hall, Louann, Mrs. Lucille Rybolt, Kokomo, Ind., Mrs. Cathryne Robbins, Dallas, Tex., and Mrs. Gladys Shirey, Austin, Tex.; three brothers, Grady Graves, Bastrop, La., Horace Graves, Shreveport, La., and Bud Graves, Pleasant Hill; a sister, Mrs. Alice Moutray, Leesville, La.; 20 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Norphlet with the Rev. Henry Davenport and the Rev. Jimmie Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. (El Dorado Times - February 27, 1970)
