Arnell Bates Arnold, age 89 of Norphlet, passed from this life on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home in El Dorado. She was born on December 15, 1924 in Norphlet to the late Gilbert Lawrence and Eva Othelda (McCaskill) Bates. Arnell was a homemaker and was a member of First Baptist Church of Norphlet. She was also a long standing member of the Order of Eastern Star # 506 of Norphlet.
Arnell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doyle K. Arnold; two brothers, G.L. Bates and Fred Lee Bates; two sisters, Othelda Toombs and LaDonna Watts.
Those left to cherish her memory include; two sons, Kenny Arnold Jr and wife Mary and Thomas Arnold and wife Frances all of Norphlet; seven grandchildren, Shelly Hildebrand, Steve Arnold, Heath Arnold, Jason Arnold, Jeff Davis, Allison Davis and Phillip Davis; seven great grandchildren, Catherine Thompson, Walker Hildebrand, Jewel Ann Arnold, Slade Thomas Arnold, Abby Davis, Grant Davis and Mason Scott; two great great grandchildren, Jensen Hildebrand and Asher Thompson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at The First Baptist Church of Norphlet, with Rev. Lawrence Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.
Pallbearers will be; Perry Toombs, Larry Bates, Jimmy Watts, Mark Toombs, Randy Williams and Sonny Harper. Honorary pallbearers will be; Danny Staples, Bobby Love and Todd Bates.
