Johnnie Tanner, 83, of Weatherford, Texas passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012.
Mrs. Tanner was born February 4, 1929, in Robert Lee, Texas. She was a longtime resident of El Dorado, Arkansas and graduated from El Dorado High School in 1946. She married James Ralph Tanner in 1947 and began a career as a secretary at Lion Oil Company in El Dorado. James Ralph and Johnnie had two children and spent most of their married lives together traveling and living in foreign countries. James Ralph passed away in 1969 and Johnnie then settled down in Fort Worth, Texas where she worked as a secretary for the Internal Revenue Service, retiring after 19 years of service.

Johnnie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her son, Gary, of Arlington, TX; daughter, Paula Mower and husband Steve of Weatherford, TX; grandchildren, James Cody Tanner and Andrea Mower; sisters, Jessie Franks of Hope, AR and Jimmie Sinclair of McKinney, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 12, at Young’s Chapel. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Young’s.
