Mary E. Morgan Porter age 92 of Hot Springs, AR, formerly of Fayetteville and El Dorado passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2015 at her home. Mary was born on September 18, 1923 in El Dorado, the daughter of Owen and Mary L. Justiss Morgan. She was a 1947 graduate of the Baptist Memorial School of Nursing in Memphis, TN where she obtained her certification as a registered nurse. Mary was a longtime resident of El Dorado and was a retired public health nurse with the Union County Health Department. Mary spent 16 years with the health department and was head administrator for 15 of those years before her retirement.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles E. Porter and by one sister, Yvonne Bunn.
Survivors include; one son, James E. Porter of El Dorado; three daughters, Charlene O'Neal and husband James of Fayetteville, AR, Donna Harbour and husband Steve of Hot Springs, AR and Debra Sinclair also of Hot Springs; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and a host of friends.
Visitation was held from 5-7 pm on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Bailey Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Bro. Tee Raynes officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice of Hot Springs or to the Alzheimers Foundation of America.
