HUNTSVILLE — Albert Wade Whorton, 69, of Huntsville died Feb. 1, 2008, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born May 30, 1938, in Brownwood, Texas, to W.A. and Altha Bernice Conley Whorton.
He was a retired oilfield worker, a member of the Church of Christ and a Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Laney Whorton of the home; one son, Lonnie Wade Whorton and wife Kathy of Witter; two daughters, Katrina Marie Whorton of Fort Worth, Texas, and Christina Diane and husband Harold Hite of Lincoln; one stepson, Russell Usrey of Huntsville; one stepdaughter, Heather Dawn Usrey of Huntsville; one brother, Lonnie J. Whorton of Rising Star, Texas; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Whorton home. Private burial will be in Fayetteville National Cemetery.
