Lisa Kay McGinty, 49 of Greenbrier, passed away on September 19, 2012, at her home, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Lisa was born on February 25, 1963 to Ethel Zalky and was a step-daughter to the late Earl Zalky of Minnesota. Lisa was a member of Copperas Springs Baptist Church and was employed at CHDC until she retired due to her illness.
She is survived by her husband, Gary McGinty; daughter, Gina McGinty and her children, Marissa, Jackson and Gavin of the home; step-children, Paula Vernon (Shane) and children Makalya, Gary Paul & Seth, Tresa McGinty and children, all of Galveston, TX, Deanna McGinty and children of Conway and Chastity Derrisseaux and children of Little Kansas, OK. Also surviving are her mother, sisters, Deb Cummings of Sioux Falls, SD, and Pam Stevens of Leroy, MN; brothers, Steve Johnson of Alexandria, MN and Brian Johnson of Lime Springs, IA. Lisa leaves behind a special childhood friend, Dawn Elmore (Nub) of Siloam Springs, AR, who was by Lisa's side till the end, and many other family members and close friends.
Services will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday, September 22, at Copperas Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Gary Burdin officiating. Interment will follow at McGintytown Cemetery with Otis Lyons, Lonnie Roberson, Jake Junyor, Johnathan Shores, Gary Hazel and Thomas Hill serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier.
Gary and his family would like to express their gratitude to Lisa's extended family at CHDC, the staff at Arkansas Hospice, and the many doctors who fought to save our beloved Lisa.
