Glen Hayes, 66, of Montrose, died Saturday, December 16, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Hayes was a native Dermott, a resident of Montrose for the past 18 years and a former resident of Lake Village for many years. He was a 1970 graduate of Lakeside High School and was a superintendent for Ideal Construction for 18 years. He loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Ruby Griffith Hayes.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Beth Brooks Hayes of Montrose; two sons, Michael Hayes and wife, Tisha, of Lake Village and Bradley Hayes and wife, Felicia of Montrose; four brothers, Johnny Wayne Hayes of Fredonia, Kansas, Ricky Hayes of Austin, Texas, Rodney Cockrell of New Athens, Illinois and Tony Hayes of Magnolia; one sister, Tammy Hayes of Ridgeland, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Allen Hayes, Molly Hayes and Lee Hayes and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Monday, December 18, 2017 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Phillip Payne officiating. Private burial will be in the Montrose Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Montrose Cemetery Association, c/o Rita Chandler, 133 Lynn Road, Portland, AR 71663 or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Maggie Elizabeth “Beth” Hayes, 70, of Montrose, died Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at her son’s residence. Mrs. Hayes was a native of Lake Village and a resident of Montrose for most of her life. She was a 1970 graduate of Lakeside High School, where she was Valedictorian of her class and the Homecoming Queen. Mrs. Hayes worked as a bookkeeper for Farm Bureau for 20 years and Barton’s Lumber Company in Lake Village for 17 years. She was a member of the Bayou Mason Baptist Church. Mrs. Hayes enjoyed shopping, and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandson, and her best friend, Ann Scott.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Glen Hayes in 2017; her parents, Lee Merritt and Nora Nadine White Brooks; a brother, James Kendall Brooks and an uncle, William “Junior” Brooks.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Hayes and wife, Tisha, of Lake Village, and Bradley Hayes and wife, Felicia, of Montrose; three grandchildren, Allen Hayes and wife, Ann Claire, Molly Hayes, all of Lake Village and Lee Hayes of Montrose and a great-grandson, Charles Allen Hayes.
Memorial services are 10 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2023, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Philip Payne officiating. Memorials may be made to the Montrose Cemetery Association, c/o Rita Chandler, 133 Lynn Road, Portland, AR 71663. Private burial will be in the Montrose Cemetery.
Visitation will be after the memorial service in the funeral home chapel.
