Mrs. Eva Lansdale Pruitt, 89, of Fountain Hill, died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the Monticello Healthcare Nursing Home. Mrs. Pruitt was a native of Drew County and a resident of Fountain Hill for the past 50 years. She worked for Burlington Industries in Monticello for 30 years and she was a member of the Fountain Hill First Baptist Church. She loved mowing and gardening and helping her elderly neighbors and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ancy Ervin Pruitt in 1959; a son, Norwood Pruitt in 2006; her father, Alvin Lansdale; her mother, Myrtle Carpenter and five brothers, Howard, Travis & Levern Lansdale and Elmer & Velmer Carpenter.
She is survived by a daughter, Louise Withers and husband, Bobby, of Hamburg; seven grandchildren, Philip Pruitt and Carmen Smith both of Fountain Hill, Jackye Mills of Crossett, Sandra Withers Arnold of North Little Rock, Karen Beavers of Crossett, Bryan Withers of Conway and G.R. Withers of Carlsbad, California; 12 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2009 in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Elton officiating. Burial will be in the Flat Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers are Philip Pruitt, Justin Mills, Bryan Withers, John Paul Huggins, Shane Smith and David Parker.
