Betsy Lane Ethridge, 86, of Conway, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2003 in Conway. She was born in Little Rock on January 11, 1917 to the late William Thomas and Linnie Louise Fawcett Lane and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Conway.
She held various positions with the Conway Business and Professional Women's Organization, of which she was a member for 35 years, and was office manager for Starkey Construction for 25 years until her retirement. Mrs. Ethridge was an avid sports fan, her favorites being the Arkansas Razorbacks, the Atlanta Braves, and Tiger Woods.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved husband, Walter Russ Ethridge.
Survivors include two daughters, Martha Ethridge of Conway, and Betty Graham and husband Dr. Maurice Graham of Williamsburg, VA; grandchildren, Leslie & Ron Marshall of Conway, Rustye & Todd Cooley of Ashmore, IL, Robin & Kirk Cunningham of Greenbrier, Dr. Jeff & Erin Graham of Austin, TX, and Amanda & Eric Prokopi of Newberry, FL; great-grandchildren, Robert, Haley, Kyle, Miranda, Kira, and Andrew; a sister-in-law, Mildred Ford of North Little Rock; and nieces, Dr. Carolyn Ford of Fayetteville and Mary Jane & Drew Hodges of North Little Rock.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2003 at First United Methodist Church, Conway, with Rev. Philip Hathcock officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Conway BPW Scholarship Fund, c/o Lynn Sterka, 53 Briarwood Cir., Conway, AR 72032.
