It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ann Traylor Davis (Conway, Arkansas), born in Augusta, Arkansas, who passed away on September 23, 2019, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, A. R. "Pop" and Marian B. Traylor; her husband Rev. Lamar Davis; and her brother A. R. "Boots" Traylor. She is survived by : her children, Leigh Walls (Bruce) and Alan Davis (Lisa) of Kenya; and her grandchildren, Micah Davis, Luke Walls, Claya Davis and Tyler Davis. She is also survived by several nieces and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Certain Little Free Class Pantry at Conway High School, the Women's Shelter of Central Arkansas, or Conway First United Methodist Church (designated funds for music, the Early Childhood Center, or the education scholarships for girls in Kenya).

James "Lamar" Davis, of Conway, died October 8, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Ann, of 49 years; daughter Leigh Walls (Bruce) of Conway; son Alan (Lisa) of Kenya; niece Paula Mayberry (Thomas) of Germantown, Tennessee; grandchildren Luke Walls, Micah, Claya, and Tyler Davis; and many other cherished family and friends.



Lamar grew up in Trumann Arkansas, the son of R.L. and Mabel Person Davis, who preceded him in death, as did his sister, Dot Walker, of Memphis. He graduated from Hendrix College in 1953 and Perkins School of Theology, SMU in 1956. He was a retired United Methodist minister, having served churches and Wesley Foundations in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Kansas. After "retirement", he continued his ministry, working at Hendrix College and with many community organizations, youth groups, and as a caregiver to many others.



Family visitation will be at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Monday, October 11, from 4-6 pm. On Tuesday, October 12, after a committal service at the church columbarium, a luncheon will be served to family and out of town friends at noon in Fellowship Hall. A worship service will follow at 2 pm at First United Methodist Church in Conway (corner of Prince and Clifton Streets).



In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to 1st UMC's Early Childhood Education Center or new building fund, or the Conway Cancer Foundation.
