Mrs. Josephine Donaldson, 85, of Hamburg, died Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. Mrs. Donaldson was a native of Drew County; a resident of Hamburg for the past 25 years and a former resident of Monticello for many years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Fountain Hill First Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Wilson Donaldson in 1995; a son, Nathen Donaldson in 1952; her parents, Fred Dugger and Elsie Trantham and a brother, Wade Trantham.
She is survived by a daughter, Virginia Kelley of Hamburg; seven sons, James Donaldson, Jr. of Lake Village; George Donaldson of Monticello, Alfred Donaldson of Bryan, Texas, Ronnie Donaldson, Wade Donaldson, Curtis Donaldson and Chris Donaldson all of Monticello; a brother, Joe Trantham of Monticello; a sister, Lois Conrad of Bastrop, Louisiana; 27 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services and burial are 2 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2012 in the Flat Creek Cemetery with Rev. Sanders Brooks officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Trantham, Tommy Rhoads, Tim Collier Jr., Arron Jennings, Joey Crouch, Chris Jones, Allen Jones, Jamie Donaldson, Wayne Donaldson, Roscell Donaldson, Kevin Donaldson, Sam Donaldson, Rick Donaldson, Jason Donaldson, Joseph Donaldson and Christian Donaldson.
