Gwendolyn Eloise Chadwick, 94, of Hamburg, died Tuesday, June 11,
2019, in Pine Bluff. Mrs. Chadwick was a native of Crossett and a
resident of the Shiloh Community, north of Hamburg, for most of her life.
She was a homemaker, a very devout Christian and a member of the
Shiloh Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing and was a former member
of the Ashley County Harmonetts. Mrs. Chadwick loved spending time
with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed traveling,
painting, and fishing.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Udell Chadwick;
three grandsons, Shaun Udell Chadwick, Bryan Bain Chadwick, and
Bryor Lane Chadwick; her parents, Halcard and Virgie Rodgers
McDougald; two brothers, Doyle and Melvin McDougald and a sister,
Dorothy Maxine McDougald Harville Wallace.
She is survived by two sons, Max Chadwick and wife, Sandra, of
Hamburg and Dennis Chadwick and wife, June, of Crossett; four
grandchildren, Stephan Chadwick, Melvin Chadwick, Chad Chadwick,
and Sissy Addington; 22 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2019, at the Shiloh Baptist
Church with Bro. Elvin McDill officiating. Burial will be in the Flat Creek
Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mike Harville, Melvin Chadwick, Chad
Chadwick, Richard Addington, Jr., Mark McDougald and Bubbie
Mashburn. Honorary pallbearers are Eugene Gifford, Daniel Kirkland,
John Bourgeois and Allen Holland. Memorials may be made to the Shiloh
Baptist Church 716 Ashley Road 81 E., Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the church
