Ella Geraldine Shaw Matthews, age 84, of Little Rock, died Sunday, March 16, 2008. Gerry was born in Conway, Arkansas, the daughter of the late James Harvey and Ara Agnes Webb Shaw. After graduation from high school in Norman, Arkansas, she attended Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and then transferred to the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in home economics and was honored as a Razorback Beauty.
She is survived by her husband Kay L. Matthews of Little Rock, 2 sons; Robert Matthews of Santa Monica, California, John Matthews of Little Rock, 1 daughter Susan Matthews of Little Rock, 2 sisters; Ann S. Chudy and husband Dr. Amail of North Little Rock, Joyce King of Washington, D.C. and 1 brother; James H. Shaw of Maracaibo, Venezuela.

Kay Mattrhes*
*{Her husband is buried at the ARK Vets Cemetery in NLR .} . .Col. Kenesaw "Kay" Mountain Landis Matthews, (United States Army National Guard, Ret.), 94, passed away May 14, 2017. Born in Norfork, Arkansas to Andy H. and Ruth Hankins Matthews, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Little Rock for 60 years. Kay was a graduate of Calico Rock High School, a veteran of the U.S. Navy who survived the attack on Pearl Harbor, and the National Guard, and a graduate of the University of Arkansas School of Law. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Royal Order of Jesters Court 12.
Preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Andy Matthews, Willie Hill Matthews and Bernadine Matthews, and his first wife (Ella Geraldine Matthews); he is survived by his wife, Vera Matthews; his children, Robert Landis Matthews, Susan Kaye Matthews, John Shaw Matthews, Kelly Massey and Holly Massey; and a host of other family and friends.
